Jillian began her casting career in 2010 as a "reader" on a silent film (hilarious, right?)  That film was called “The Artist” - and it went on the win an Academy Award for Best Picture. Having such a great experience during the casting process ignited a passion in Jillian to pursue a career as a Casting Director.

After working with Sanford Casting in Los Angeles, she partnered with Sanford to create Sanford-Johnston Casting in Atlanta, Georgia.  With a recent move to Austin, Texas she created her own company, Shelter Casting. Although based in Texas, Jillian’s expertise has brought her clients across the U.S., as well as Mexico, London, and Canada.

Jillian has cast a variety of projects, including feature films, major SAG and Non Union national commercials, as well as diverse language Voice Overs. Although she loves traditional casting, Jillian’s passion is research for roles with difficult specs, which has brought her to work closely with the WGA Diversity Committee.  She is a member of the Casting Society of America and The Commercial Casting Directors Association, and has been nominated for a Heller Award for Excellence in Casting.
